The Most Delicious Father's Day Fiesta Cactus Cupcakes

For this wonderful Father's Day of 2020, I just wanted to shout out to all dad's who have dedicated their lives for their children! For this very special day, I received an order asking for 24 white vanilla cupcakes for a special Fathers Day party from a friend of mine. My client asked for something everyone could enjoy, so my mind immediately flashed to cacti. I also wanted to add a slight fiesta touch to enhance the party vibe. So once I brainstormed everything I wanted to add to these delicate cupcakes, I immediately got to work.

First off I found these perfect cupcake liners, with the colors red, green, and white with little teal diamonds. I also ordered some small cactus toppers outlined in gold, along with some red and yellow pom-pom-like toppers. After collecting everything I needed to bake and decorate the cupcakes, I began baking.

The cupcake itself was a simple white cupcake, and as for the buttercream I used cream cheese frosting since I find it easiest to pipe with. I made about 12 extra cupcakes in case my original batch failed to bake properly.

Once all the cupcakes were baked, I began decorating them. To frost these cupcakes, I used the colors red, green and yellow. I also used a 2D Star Tip to do my swirls for the cupcakes. After they were frosted and prepped, I put the sprinkles on next before I put on the toppers. I used some yellow and red sugar sprinkles, and some green cactus sprinkles. Finally, I added the finishing touch: the toppers. On some cupcakes I topped them with pom-pom-like toppers, and with others I used the paper cacti. Regardless of which topper I used, the toppers brought each and every cupcake together.

Thank you so much for reading my Delicious Father's Day Fiesta Cactus Cupcakes! I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog as much as I've enjoyed baking these cupcakes!
