The Easiest Fox Cake You Will Ever Make

Intro

This amazingly simple fox cake is a cake with no stress, no frustration, and no experience necessary! This cute little critter cake was so easy and so forgivable, I just had to make it! For the first process of this cake that I will guide you through, I highly recommend that you use a thick buttercream frosting for nice thick peaks when piping the dollops on the fox. Now with that said and done, lets start decorating!

What You Need

> Two 8" round cakes (or whatever size desired), smooth frosted

> Toothpick

> Jumbo marshmallow

> Scissors

> Pink sanding sugar

> Small open star tip

> Large open star tip

> White buttercream

> Orange food coloring

> Mini cookies

Instructions

1. Prep the Cake

First make a batch of your favorite buttercream, then split your buttercream into three different bowls. (or more if you want more shades of orange). For your first bowl you will need to leave it plain white for the little fluffs of frosted fur on the sides of the foxes cheek (you will need a smaller portion of white so you can conserve more for your ombre of oranges). And for your other two bowls you can dye them any two orange colors that satisfy your taste.

When you've got your buttercream prepared, use your toothpick to trace a curved V-shaped figure across the bottom of your cake (refer to the image above).

2. Make the Ears

Cut your jumbo marshmallow in half diagonally. Dip the two sides into pink sanding sugar so the sticky sides are well coated. Place them at the top of the cake.

3. Piping

Begin by spooning both of your orange buttercream frostings into two piping bags fitted with the large and small star tips. Once both of your piping bags are filled, get creative by piping all kinds of rosettes, dots and kisses all within the upper part of your V-shape you have traced. Pipe small kisses around the edges of the marshmallow ears as well.

Fill a new piping bag fitted with a star tip with your white buttercream. Then pipe long tufts of fur along the top of the two cheeks defined by the toothpick lines.

4. Finishing the Face

Cut the bottom off two mini cookies and press them gently into the buttercream to create eyes. Then add another mini cookie for the tip of the nose, which you just need to cut by forming a V at the bottom. Pipe two small dots of white buttercream onto the eyes using a small writing piping tip. And wa-la! You are finished!
